philosophy

When I was shopping around various photographers for my own wedding I was struck by the high cost of services and prints. On top of all that I wouldn’t be able to have my images so I could make my own prints. This is a common approach to wedding photography that you may see where the cost of shooting the wedding or taking portraits may be a bit lower, but the prints, albums, and negatives will cost you a lot! Sometimes the cost of a 4x6 can be as high as $20-$30 and if you are able to purchase the digital files or negatives, they can cost $500-$1,000. In this model the photographer is covering the costs of their business on the aftermarket of your event.

I take a different approach. My focus is on capturing creative images that you will want to frame on your wall as well as documenting every moment of your event. I’m not worried about only taking pictures that will sell well to family and friends because I’m going to give you all the images I take. With my services you are paying for my time shooting and processing all your images before I deliver them to you. This may mean that some of my packages may look a bit more expensive than other photographers at first glance. Keep in mind however that in the long run, having your own images can save you a lot of money. I make the images available to all my clients on the internet so they can order high quality prints, but I keep the cost of those images as low as possible. I want you to be able to do as much as possible with all your images, after all…it’s your wedding. I can assist customers in making enlargements, creating artistic renderings, designing a custom coffee book style album, but you will have control over your images. Regardless if you order prints online or not, I will give you all the high resolution images on a disk about 30-60 days after the wedding. These images will be of the best quality, but just remember that with printing labs, you get what you pay for.
